Help families in need – provide Christmas gifts for children

Since 1991, City Gospel Mission has coordinated the efforts of churches, organizations, and individuals throughout Greater Cincinnati to create a store where low-income parents can buy Christmas gifts for their children at a price they can afford.

Our church partners distribute registration forms to parents they know need help. Parents are assigned a set shopping time. They pay a low, per child fee to shop, then can select one new toy item ($15 to $40 value) and one new clothing item ($20 to $50 value) for each child and wrap their gifts there. We anticipate 300 parents to shop for almost 1000 children this year.

The date for The Christmas Store 2019 is December 12-14. The Store will be located at Westwood First Presbyterian Church, 3011 Harrison Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45211.

We need donations of new toys ($15-$40 value), new upper-body clothing ($20-$50 value), and cash (to purchase gifts and supplies that are not donated). See Christmas Store Shopping Guide for gift ideas. Donations should be dropped off at City Gospel Mission, 1211 York Street, Cincinnati, OH 45214, by Dec. 11, 2019.

Our Impact

By the Numbers

Each year at our Christmas Store, over 350 low-income parents shop for gifts for more than 1,200 children.

Our Approach

Our Christmas Store is always in partnership with churches because we believe that a year-round relationship with our shoppers is important. Partner churches identify families in need in their congregation and connect them with our Store. We ask parents to pay a small fee of $8 for the gifts so they have the dignity of ownership and providing for their children.
