Case Manager

Helps to create a positive environment with the community of people residing and working in the City Gospel Mission Homeless Shelter.

Case managers work one-on-one with residents of the shelter. A big part of the work is helping residents navigate problems and challenges which might include struggles with domestic violence, physical or emotional illness, alcoholism, drug abuse and other conditions that have contributed to their homelessness. Case managers coordinate with other service agencies to help these clients secure permanent housing, health care, financial help or job training. Case Managers also work closely with other Shelter personnel including the Day Program Manager, Operations Manager, Volunteer Coordinator and Community Facilitators.

Community Facilitator

Helps to create a positive environment with the community of people residing and working in the City Gospel Mission Homeless Shelter.

Community Facilitators manage intakes for residents coming for overnight shelter and for evening dinner guests. (Our “diner” is open to the public for dinner time meals.) Community Facilitators attend to residents and guests while they are on the property participating in ministry activities, including dinner, chapel and night-time shelter. This position oversees the safety and wellbeing of all guests and volunteers. Community Facilitators work closely with the Operations Manager, Case Managers, Volunteers, and the Homeless Services team as a whole to ensure that the men and women in our programming are working toward positive physical, social, mental and spiritual transformation.

Youth Ministry Internships

Our Internship program provides an opportunity for current college students, recent graduates, and those in mid-career to serve a local church in youth ministry. Through hands-on experience, these one-year internships train, equip, and challenge participants to minister effectively to people in poverty.
