Relocation Information Center

"City Gospel is coming to Queensgate. We welcome them and look forward to working with them." — Catherine Herring, President, Communicating Arts Credit Union

City Gospel Mission is in the process of relocating to a new state-of-the-art campus in Queensgate. This is an exciting milestone in our 88-year history. We have been looking to relocate since 2003 because our current Over-the-Rhine facility — originally built in the 1940s — is outdated, inefficient and landlocked. We only have 46 total beds in our current facility, and the increased need for our programs and services means we need additional beds and expanded space to serve more participants. Construction on the new facilities is expected to begin in July 2013, and the project will take an estimated 12 months to complete. Throughout our history, City Gospel Mission has committed to being a good, accountable neighbor to the OTR community — and we will continue that commitment in Queensgate.

Benefits of a New Facility

  1. 74 emergency beds for men (double current amount)
  2. 36 transitional beds for men’s Exodus recovery program (triple current amount)
  3. Full-day services and programs that engage residents and eliminates the need for guests to exit after breakfast
  4. Additional case workers to provide more 1-to-1 interaction with residents
  5. Easily accessible from I-75; sufficient parking space for increased number of volunteers
  6. Large vestibule waiting area to avoid street loitering

The Queensgate Location

  1. One block north of the Main Post Office; corner of Dalton Avenue & York Street
  2. Estimated 61,000-square-feet of renovated and newly constructed facilities (two buildings)
  3. $12.8 million building project will bring jobs and upgraded facilities to the community

Message to Our Donors

It is vitally important that you know your financial gifts continue to be designated specifically to support hurting and homeless men and women and at-risk youth achieve life transformation. City Gospel Mission has launched a separate fundraising campaign specifically for the new facility.

Message to Our Volunteers

As we expand our programs and services, we will need to double our number of volunteers. We are excited to offer current and new volunteers additional opportunities to specifically fit their talents and service interests. Additionally, our new facility will offer expanded and adequate parking, be safe and secure and provide easy access from I-75 and other areas of the city.
