About Us

Serving Greater Cincinnati since 1924, City Gospel Mission empowers men, women and at-risk youth to break the cycle of poverty and despair. We collaborate with local churches to offer a variety of one-to-one, relationship-focused programs and services to equip those in need with the spiritual, emotional and physical skills and resources to achieve life transformation.

City Gospel Mission annually serves nearly 139,000 hot and nutritious meals and provides 29,000 nights of safe shelter to the homeless and hurting. We also offer comprehensive men’s and women’s recovery programs, which include transitional and supportive housing and aftercare. Additionally, City Gospel Mission offers hurting men and women various other resources and services, including a work program, enrichment courses, chapel services, Thanksgiving and Christmas outreach programs and more.

City Gospel Mission also annually impacts more than 12,000 at-risk youth in over 50 Greater Cincinnati neighborhoods through 7 youth programs. These programs include: Whiz Kids tutoring and mentoring, summer camps, college scholarships, basketball, performing arts, cycling, youth groups, and more. The goal of each program is to pair an at-risk child with a caring adult as a way to help foster spiritual, emotional and physical growth and educational development in the child’s life.

Statement of Faith

1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
3. We believe in the deity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death. through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
4. We believe that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for the salvation of lost and sinful people.
5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
